FAO and ERRA have started a joint venture for livelihoods rehabilitation in the earthquake affected areas of Pakistan. The responsibilities were included as social mobilization which includes formation of new CBOs or strengthening of existing CBOs. Facilitation for the formulation of CLRPs, preparation of cost estimates, technical and managerial backstopping to the CBOs in the implementation of the CLRPs. SNEP project of UNDP design activities of the voter education activities for the Election 2007-08, at Abbottabad, Manshera, Haripur and Batagram Districts consist of 175 UCs, 9 Tehsils and 4 Districts level activities. These activities have planned such that it caters to all the categories of Youth, Women, Minorities and General Public. The objectives of these activities are as under.
- Strengthen democratic political culture in Pakistan
- Increase public awareness of informed participation in the political process and develop understanding of election processes.
- Create awareness in the people about
- The need to and importance of free and fair elections.
- The need to exercise their freedom of making informed choices in electing their leaders and
- The duty and responsibility of every citizen to guard against Electoral malpractices
- Minimize voter apathy and encourage voting through appreciation and understanding of the negative effects of non-participation in registration and voting.
- To mobilize and educate women, youth and minorities about elections and its benefits and guide them on voting procedures.

DTCE (Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment) at Abbottabad and Manshera Districts, with respective Districts, Tehsils and Union Councils, capacity of the Union Council members would be enhanced by carrying Citizen Community Board Mobilization training (CCBM) at each Union Council. IME CSOs along with DTCE will help create an effective and transparent capacity building environment. When considerable amount of CCBs would
be registered, the Project Cycle Management Trainings (PCM) will take place. The main idea of this training is to educate people at grass root level to follow a proper methodology through which they can identify, formulate, get approved and execute their projects.
